FORMER CHAMPION CHAD DAWSON COMES BACK TO THE WBC

Former Light Heavyweight world champion, Chad Dawson, from the United States, visited Mexico City and asked World Boxing Council President, Jose Sulaiman, the opening of the organization´s doors once again, in virtue of the fact that the only world champion belt he wants is the WBC green and gold belt.

El ex campeón mundial de peso semicompleto Chad Dawson de Estados Unidos, visitó la ciudad de México y pidió al Presidente del Consejo Mundial de Boxeo, José Sulaimán, la apertura de las puertas del organismo nuevamente, en virtud de que el único cinto de campeón mundial que él quiere es el verde y oro del CMB.

Chad Dawson was joined by his exclusive promoter, Gary Shaw, as well as by his lifelong manager, Mike Criscio, who addressed the organization expressing their loyalty and desire to have their champion come back to the World Boxing Council, his home.

Chad Dawson estuvo acompañado de su promotor exclusivo Gary Shaw, así como de su manager de toda su vida Mike Criscio, quienes se dirigieron al organismo expresando su lealtad y el deseo del retorno del campeón a su hogar el Consejo Mundial de Boxeo.

President Sulaiman, on behalf of the World Boxing Council, approved the fight for the Interim world title that Dawson will take part in, against the also American fighter, Glenn Johnson, whom Dawson had fought, in a close and controversial defense of his title, being now the upcoming fight, a very awaited rematch.

El Presidente Sulaimán, a nombre del Consejo de Gobierno, aprobó la pelea por el título mundial interino que tendrá contra el boxeador norteamericano Glenn Jonson con quien el campeón había tenido una cercana y controvertida defensa de su título, tratándose ahora de una muy esperada revancha

Chad Dawson had conquered the WBC Youth world title in 2003, and later won the North American Boxing Federation title in 2006, becoming world champion in 2007, when he faced former champion Tomasz Adamek. Subsequently Dawson defended his title three times.

Chad Dawson había conquistado el título mundial juvenil del CMB en el año 2003 para luego obtener el título de la Federación Norteamericana de Boxeo en el año 2006, coronándose campeón mundial en el año 2007, ante el ex campeón Thomas Adamek para hacer tres defensas de su título posteriormente.
