AMERICA’S BEST GRAPPLE IN NEW JERSEY
Morristown, New Jersey – Grapplers Quest “The World’s Largest Grappling Competition” is hosting the Official 2009 U.S. Nationals of Grappling to The Mennen Sports Arena Center (161 East Hanover Ave.) in Morristown, New Jersey on Saturday and Sunday, June 27th and 28th. Spectator tickets will be available online at GrapplersQuest.com and at-the-door starting at 11:00 AM each day.
UFC Veterans and Mixed Martial Arts superstars competing include: Vinicius “Pezao” Magalhães (TUF Season 8), Wilson Reis (Bellator), Dante Rivera (TUF Season 7), Matt “No Regard” Arroyo, Jamal Patterson (IFL Veteran) and Brian McLaughlin (TUF Season 8), plus the world’s best submission fighters including Ryan Hall, Pablo Popovitch, Bill Cooper, Bruno Bastos, Jorge “Macaco” Patino, Roberto “Cyborg” Abreu, Rick “The Animal” Migliarese and female standouts, Kathy Brothers, Cristina "Midget Twister" Rodriguez (Gracie Tampa/Rob Kahn) and many more.
Submission Grappling is the ground fighting art of Mixed Martial Arts, combining the throws of Olympic Judo, takedowns of Greco-Roman and/or Freestyle Wrestling, leg locks from Russian Sambo, and various other submissions loke arm-bars and chokes from Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Grapplers Quest organizes the official National, Regional, North American and World competitions for Submission Grappling, the submission style ground-fighting sport.
Grapplers Quest will also host a charity Autism Awareness Seminar with David Avellan (Florida Freestyle Academy, Miami, FL) on Sunday, June 28th from 11:00AM-1:00 PM and UFC Lightweight standout, Kurt “Batman” Pellegrino (Lightweight Contender) will be signing autographs and taking fan photos all weekend.
