Once beaten Pawel Wolak overwhelmed former “Contender Season 2” participent Vinroy Barrett (22-8, 11 KOs) over 10-one sided rounds last night at the Capital One Theatre in Long Island, NY. Over the last two years, Wolak (24-1, 16 KOs) has been on a steady diet of former “Contender” alums. Johnatan Reid, Norberto Bravo and last night Vinory Barrett have all been dealt an” L” on their records when they meet the “Raging Bull” in the squared circle. The only loss on Wolak record coincidentally came at the hands of, much avoided, former “Contender Season 1” star Ishe Smith, in a competitive 10 round decision loss last August.
The fan friendly Polish fighter controlled the action from the opening bell pushing Barrett back and nailing him with punches from all angles. Barrett bravely attempted to fight back but Wolak, who always comes into fights in great condition, never took a backward step. The punishment continued over the scheduled 10-rounds. Final scorecards read 100-89, 100-88 and 99-89. A point was deducted from Barrett in round nine for holding.
