New Jersey Boxing Hall of Fame Class of 2009

I am proud to announce the 11 new members of the New Jersey Boxing Hall of Fame. They will all be inducted on Thursday, November 12, 2009 at the Venetian in Garfield.

1. Dave Anderson - Writer
2. Nino Del Buono – Ring Announcer
3. Buster Drayton - won 40 (KO 28) + lost 15 (KO 3) + drawn 1 = 57 - IBF light middleweight champion
4. Kathy Duva - Promotor
5. Benjy Esteves - Referee

6. Junior Jones- won 50 (KO 28) + lost 6 (KO 5) + drawn 0, WBA bantamweight title - WBO super bantamweight title
7. Darren Maciunski– won 20 (KO 7) + lost 8 (KO 3) + drawn 0, Beat Earl Hargrove, Meldrick Taylor & James “Buddy” McGirt

8. Mario Maldonado - won 28 (KO 14) + lost 13 (KO 3) + drawn 1 = 42
9. Lindsey Tucker – of the IBF
10. Paulie Walker - Former #2 Welterweight Contender in the 1930's.
11. Steve Weisfeld – Boxing Judge
12. Wayne Hedgepeth - Rreferee and former Amateur Champion

Also, being honored will be our “Man of the Year” Tom Space, along with the Amateur Coach and Official of the Year, PLUS the Pro and Amateur Boxers of the Year.
