NJ Amateur Championships will Benefit a Child with ALD

On Saturday January 17th 2009 at 6 p.m. The Union City Boxing Club and Mayor Brian P. Stack will present the 2009 NJ State Amateur Championships. The show will take place at Washington School located at 3901 New York Ave., Union City NJ.

MonstroJason "Monstro" Escalera will be on hand
Parking is located one block west at the Municipal parking lots. The show will benefit 8 year old Massimo Phillipy who recently was diagnosed with the rare disease known as Adrenoleukodystrophy or ALD. ALD is a neuro-degerative disease that affects one in 20,000 children in the United States.

Massimo and his family have been forced to relocate to The Children's Hospital in Minnesota for treatment and the financial hardship is enormous. The bouts will feature Hudson County's top Amateur boxers and many upcoming undefeated professionals including Jason "Monstro" Escalera and Antonio "Tiger" Espinosa will also be on hand. Tickets for the event are $20.00 floor and $10.00 general admission. We are also seeking bout sponsorships which are $250.00 and includes 4 tickets, a plaque, and advertisement in the sponsor booklet. The donation is tax deductible.

Tickets may be purchased at Termini's Pizzeria at 4107 Bergenline Ave. in Union City or by calling 201-982-3677. For more info on how you can help Philippy you can e-mail : MassimoagainstALD@aol.com.
