ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey ( May 11, 2008) – There’s nothing more devastating in boxing that than a prospect’s first pro loss, especially for someone such as then World rated Troy Browning. (20-1, 8 KOs), whose age (41) alone makes opponents perform better. Browning suffered his first set-back February 13, when hot prospect Delvin Rodriguez out pointed Browning over 10 rounds on ESPN2 Friday night.
Troy has been in training camp for the past 2 months, and has no pressure on him at all states his manager Vincent LaManna.
LaManna also states Browning at 41 years of age is better now then he was 10 years ago, and he wishes he could have worked with Troy from the start of his career. Browning was a all Army Champion, and has a 88 and 5 amateur record that complements his 20-1 pro record.
My opinion of this event is this, Wolak and his team think they should have no problem beating Browning, as a mater of fact they are so confident they will win, he is already booked to fight in Atlantic City 2 weeks later. Bad move, never look past the gate keeper of the division.
Troy Browning will once again upset the fighter that will be across the ring on the night of the 17th, and he will become the WBC/USNBC champion.
Troy has NO pressure of selling tickets, and sponsors that he has to satisfied. Troy has always wanted to win a belt, wether it be World or regional, this is his opportunity to capture his dream, the old man is going to take this young man to school on the 17th of May.
