ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Tom Kaczmarek, an ex-fighter and current international professional boxing judge, is a former Chairman of the World Boxing Council Ring Officials Board. He was inducted into the New Jersey Boxing Hall of Fame in 1994, and the Elizabeth Athletic Hall of Fame in 2002.
Kaczmarek has judged over 2,000 professional bouts, including over 100 major world championship fights in the United States, Mexico, Europe, Asia, and Australia. Some Notable fights include: Ray Leonard v Tommy Hearns II; Evander Holyfield v George Foreman; Lennox Lewis v Vitale Klitschko; Oscar de la Hoya v Floyd Mayweather and Felix Trinidad v Roy Jones Jr.
He has conducted training seminars for judges in the USA, Europe, Canada, Mexico and for International authorities including the World Boxing Council (WBC), the European Boxing Union (EBU) and the Oriental & Pacific Boxing Federation (OPBF).

We are pleased to announce that YOU BE THE BOXING JUDGE! will be carried HERE in “serial” format over the next several months.In selected segments, we’ll review the various elements of scoring procedures, including the three basic factors used to score each round: 1. Clean punching/effective aggressiveness; 2. Ring generalship; and 3. Defense. We’ll also discuss punching: power v. quantity. We’ll study the 10 Point Must System in detail, as well as various other factors that play a roll in scoring the round and we’ll talk about the absolute power of concentration.
