FRANCISCO RODRIGUEZ IN SOLO BOXEO CO-MAIN THIS FRIDAY NIGHT
Chicago bantamweight prospect Francisco "EL NINO AZTECA" Rodriguez will battle Andre Wilson this Friday night, February 15th in the SOLO BOXEO TECATE televised co-main event at Cicero Stadium, it was announced today by Dominic Pesoli, President of 8 Count Productions, HOME OF THE BEST IN CHICAGO BOXING.
Iran Barkley to be Honored by Senator Serrano
New York, NY - State Senator José M. Serrano, as part of an annual event celebrating Black History Month with his father,
Congressman José E. Serrano, will honor Bronx boxing legend Iran "The Blade" Barkley on Monday, February 18th.
Mr. Barkley was born, raised and continues to live in the South Bronx community. In 1988, against strong odds, he defeated Thomas Hearns by TKO to become the Middleweight Champion of the World.
The day's other honorees include: Dean Meminger, Bronx Reporter for NY1 News; and Dr. Samuel J. Daniel, President and CEO of North General Hospital.

Neck Injury Sidelines Middleweight Star; UFC Veteran Haynes To Battle IFL Newcomer Serao at 185 lbs. on Feb. 29
NEW YORK and LAS VEGAS, February 12, 2008 – MMA veteran Josh “Bring the Pain” Haynes (Las Vegas), who has competed for a dozen professional mixed martial arts organizations, including the UFC, will compete at 185-lb. against Leopoldo Serao (San Francisco) at the International Fight League (OTC.BB: IFLI) event at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas on Friday, February 29. Haynes replaces popular IFL star Benji Radach (Deerfield Beach, Fla.), who suffered a neck injury in training and will be out of action indefinitely.
