Gaelic Storm: James Moore to battle J.C. Candelo at MSG on March 15th
Undefeated junior middleweight James Moore, 14-0 (10 KOS), a native of County Wicklow, Ireland, who fights out of Queens, New York, will headline the pre-St. Patrick’s Day show called “Gaelic Storm” at Madison Square Garden’s Theater against veteran J.C. Candelo, 27-9 (18 KOS), of Colombia. The March 15th event is being promoted by Celtic Gloves Promotions.

Moore, the former captain of the Irish national amateur team, has been clamoring for a big challenge. He will get that against Candelo, who has only been stopped once and has gone the distance with Winky Wright, Verno Philips, Marco Antonio Rubio, Alex Bunema and Michael Lerma.
“This is a big challenge for me, and I am really looking forward to it,” said the 29-year-old Moore, who is training at the Fernwood Resort in Pennsylvania’s Pocono Mountains. “I always train hard, so there is no reason to do anything different. I’ve been waiting for this kind of opportunity for a long time, so I am thrilled that it has finally come.”
“J.C. Candelo is a big step up for James, but that is what he’s been demanding,” said matchmaker Bruce Silverglade. “He has more knockouts than James has fights, so he should provide a stern test.”
Tickets are expected to be available during the week of February 11th and can be purchased through Ticketmaster or by calling Celtic Gloves Promotions at 917-559-8467 or Gleason’s Gym at 718-797-2872.
