TITO ORTIZ IS BACK, AGAIN

The “Bad Boy” Will Fight in May
By: Michael Gawler

The “Bad Boy” says that after almost a full year between fights, he is ready to return in ’08. Tito claims that in May he will return to the Octagon. Although no opponent has been officially named, many fans predict either a rematch with Forrest Griffin or Rashad Evans. Other available fighters might be Keith Jardine, Mauricio Rua, Houston Alexander, Thiago Silva and potentially Wanderlei Silva should he lose to Chuck Liddell.

[More:]

Regardless whom Tito will face in May, he claims he will finally be healthy and fighting at 100 percent. The funny thing is that Tito has boasted this before recent fights and still blamed injury for lackluster performances. The light heavyweight division is stacked right now with the recent Pride purchase, and Tito is considered a gatekeeper fighter at 205. By that I mean Tito will always be a fighter that you would have to beat in road to a title shot. Lets face it; he has only suffered defeat to Chuck Liddell and Randy Couture in the past 7 years, not so bad.

Tito Ortiz is a very popular and controversial fighter that is always at the center of attention. His feuds with Ken Shamrock and Chuck Liddell have generated some of the largest PPV numbers to date. His relationship with famous adult film star Jenna Jameson has also been well publicized for being a strain on his focus. Hopefully this long break from the cage has allowed him to find the “Old Tito” and will allow fans to finally remember why we call him “Huntington Beach Bad Boy” Tito Ortiz!
